Lithuanian Song Celebration 2007 “In the Circle of Life”
The entirety of the world - from a grasshopper in a lush fog to the spanless stardom - wheel in an unstoppable symbolic circle. Motion is a burden of the everlasting vitality.
Leaving from somewhere we come back to somewhere, wandering round in our rainbow. Cradled with the mother’s song, surrounded with family, friends and comrades, folded by lovers…dandling babies while storks circle above our heads.
In spring when celebrating the Easter the sun starts its dance calling the earth to wake up, bud, then rush after the summer blossoming, greening and flourishing, yield in autumn and catch a short breath in winter.
While we swirl in this circle now plodding on ridging the plough and cutting the rye, now straining to crank it even faster, letting loose the might of our generous earth, circuiting the wealds, setting swings, singing….
We are here - in the centre of the Globe – small patch called Lithuania – from the everlasting. No matter where we came from – we never leave from here, surrounded by neighbors – friendly and welcoming, vicious and hostile, menacing from the East and from the West - in the spire of history now repeating same mistakes, now surpassing all others, now subdued, now free, but always SINGING.
